The Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Current Power Reactor Status Report was posted on January 11. The last recorded status is as follows:
- 11 US nuclear reactors are at reduced capacity.
- 4 of the 98 US nuclear reactors listed on the NRC’s daily report are not operating (Including Three Mile Island, which has closed). Non-operating reactors are listed in our US Reactor Status table.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards has elected Matthew W. Sunseri as Chairman, Joy L. Rempe as Vice Chairman and Walter L. Kirchner as Member-at-Large, effective immediately
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Christopher Hunt as the new senior resident inspector at the Quad Cities nuclear power plant. The plant is operated by Exelon Generation Co., LLC., located in Cordova, Ill., 20 miles northeast of Moline.
U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Kristine L. Svinicki announced that she intends to leave the NRC on Jan. 20, 2021.
