The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued a Confirmatory Order to a manager at the Southern Nuclear Company Vogtle Units 3 and 4 construction site for actions taken against an employee who had previously raised safety concerns at the site, near Waynesboro, Ga.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa., have selected Jason Schussler as the new senior resident inspector at the R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant. The Ontario, N.Y., facility is operated by Exelon Nuclear.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has imposed a $43,500 civil penalty on Solis Tek Inc. of Carson, Calif., for importing and distributing radioactive material without a proper license.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Matthew Thomas as the new resident inspector at the Grand Gulf nuclear power plant in Port Gibson, Miss.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission announced today an important step in its transformation, the merging of its Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation with the Office of New Reactors. The resulting Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation will improve internal coordination, better balance the staff’s workload, and provide greater flexibility to respond to evolving issues at U.S. commercial nuclear power plants. The new structure took effect on October 13.
